(610 Sports) – The Kansas City Chiefs broke out the team's most fabled uniform combo against the Las Vegas Raiders, on Sunday night. The illusive white-on-white uniforms, which the team hasn't worn since 2018 and hadn't won in since 2016, against - you guessed it, the Raiders.
The white-on-white uniform has a long and polarizing history with the team, it was the uniform combination they wore in Super Bowl I, which they lost 35-10 to the Green Bay Packers. Following the loss, then head coach Hank Stram, banned the uniform combo out of superstition, until Marty Schottenheimer brought them back in 1989.
Following the Chiefs' 41-14 victory over the Raiders, sporting their white-on-whites, Sunday evening, Chiefs' quarterback Patrick Mahomes joined 610 Sports' The Drive, on Monday and shared what he thought on the team's uniform combo.
"What's your favorite jersey combination that you guys have," asked show host Carrington Harrison?
"It's not important to me, that much, but I will say that white-on-white is nice," said Mahomes. "To have that icy white on out on the field, you feel good, you play good, but really they all work for me. The red-on-red is always sweet to me, I mean, all the different jersey combinations I think look good and has the tradition too, which I think is really cool."
So, there you have it, folks - Patrick Mahomes' favorite jersey combo is, well, all of them.
