JetBlue is marking its 20th birthday Tuesday with one-way fare deals as low as $20 in select markets.

The two-day “20 Years Just Flew By” fare sale ends at 11:59 p.m. ET on February 12 and requires travelers to depart on a Tuesday or Wednesday.

“No one believed that a start-up airline in 2000 could survive 20 months, much less 20 years,” said Robin Hayes, chief executive officer, JetBlue said in a statement. “But JetBlue proved that taking care of people and bringing low fares to the market could not only be a viable business model but could also completely disrupt an industry. Others have tried to imitate JetBlue but no one has ever successfully copied our 23,000 crewmembers and the incredible culture that they’ve built.”

Blackout dates include March 18 to March 31 and April 14 to April 21 — and travel must be completed by June 17.

Passengers will not be able to make any changes or cancellations, even for a fee. Travelers who purchase “Blue” or “Blue Plus” or “Blue Extra” (JetBlue’s latest class offering) will have some flexibility, but depending on the initial cost of the ticket, the change fee could end up being more than the ticket’s original price.

More desirable routes under the "Basic Blue," fares are already closer to $100 one-way than to the aforementioned $20 sale price, due the high volume.
