A gallery owner in Culver City has adapted her business to serve her community, during the coronavirus pandemic.

She's our KNX Hero of the Week and she's feeding families, one grocery bag at a time.

Inside the Whole 9 Gallery on Main Street, there are are many pieces of interest.

"We show fine art, artisanal jewelry, and blown glass, etcetera," says gallery owner Lisa Schultz.

"Like everyone, I think, we were faced with the reality that we couldn't keep doing business," explains Lisa. "So, what I always do in situations of crisis, is say 'what can we do with our unique set of resources?'"

"One bag includes dry goods and essentials like butter and eggs," says Lisa. "The other bag includes produce. And, so far, we've distributed to about 325 families, which we estimate is about 1,500 people."

Lisa also uses donations and funding to purchase food items from local bakeries and restaurants, giving them much-needed business. She also has neighbors donating fruit from the trees in their yard.

Families feeding families.

We are recognizing Lisa Schultz as our KNX Hero of the Week, for her action to keep her community thriving.

"It's really about sharing love, as much as it's about sharing food," says Lisa.

KNX Heroes is brought to you by California Resources Corporation, saluting our military veterans, and all of our heroes!
