(KNX 1070) -  Lawyers representing thousands of Porter Ranch residents say a report on the root cause of the 2015 Aliso Canyon natural gas leak, that sickened thousands,  raises even more concerns.

Given that the report found dozens of leaks over several decades leading up to the well blowout attorney Patricia Oliver said "What was in the gas that came down the mountains into their homes? The labor report does not answer that big question."

Standing in front of the underground storage facility where natural gas spewed into the atmosphere for months before being capped, Attorney Brian Panish said SoCal Gas put profits over people.

"They have not accepted any responsibility," he said.

In a statement, a So Cal Gas spokesperson said the company has worked diligently to complete what experts have called “the most comprehensive safety review in the country,” creating multiple layers of safety at Aliso Canyon.

On Friday, an investigative report revealed that a corroded pipe casing and safety failures by SoCal Gas was to blame for the largest methane gas release in U.S. history. The blowout caused thousands of Porter Ranch residents to become sick for months with nausea, headaches and more.
