Orange County residents are breathing a sigh of relief as the officials announced the launch of a new VIP COVID-19 drive-thru "super-testing" site opening Wednesday at the Anaheim Convention Center.
But there is a catch... the new drive-thru site is by appointment only, Wednesday through Sunday, and only for healthcare workers, first responders, essential workers and those showing symptoms — or those who've been in contact with someone with COVID-19

"It's finally reached Orange County and having this set up, I think, it will help all the residents a lot since testing has been hard to get," Elain Ng costa mesa resident, told NBC Los Angeles.
The test is covered by insurance or federal funding.
According to KTLA, a second large-scale testing site is also set to open at the O.C. fairgrounds in Costa Mesa, but no date has been set yet. About 5,500 diagnostic tests were performed countywide last week, and nearly 325,000 overall, with a 14.6% positivity rate, according to data from the O.C. Health Care Agency website. A list and map of available testing sites can be found on the O.C. Health Care Agency site.
Supervisor Doug Chaffee, whose Fourth District includes most of Anaheim, told KTLA that the new convention center will help to serve residents from both Anaheim and Santa Ana — which make up 22% of O.C.'s population but 40% of its cases.
