A Riverside County father decided to show his son how kindness and love works in the world by helping a local street vendor.

Obadiah Balwin took it upon himself, with his 13-year-old son in tow, to help out street vendor Miguel Lopez earlier this month and buy out his entire goods for the day.

The Perris resident told NBC News that he wanted to teach his son a lesson in giving back. Baldwin added that he equally exhausted and saddened by the ongoing harassment and physical violence street vendors across the county were experiencing.

Baldwin began by giving Lopez $80 for his corn, then all the chips for $40. But Baldwin didn't take the food, he left it with Lopez to sell that day, and make double what he'd normally make.

"It's all about love, man. Just spread love, not hate. This world is in turmoil and we need all the love that we can get," Baldwin told NBC.
