The U.S. Geological Survey reported Monday that a series of earthquakes struck in Baja, Mexico, but were felt throughout San Diego County.
Within a span of about 20 minutes, four quakes hit about 120 miles south of the U.S.-Mexico border.

— USGS (@USGS) August 17, 2020The first trembler was a preliminary magnitude of 4.4, followed by three more quakes, one at 5.1, and another at 4.5.
An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.2 struck the San Fernando Valley on July 30, at around 4:29 a.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The shaker hit between the 210 and 5 freeways, about 1 mile north of Pacoima.
The quake was initially registered as a magnitude 4.3 quake but downgraded about 10 minutes later by the U.S.G.S. It was almost immediately followed by a magnitude 3-point-3 aftershock.
