More than 15,000 people in Southern California are without power.
In San Bernardino, more than 7,000 customers are currently in the dark, and in Ventura County, more than 5,000 customers are without electricity as of Thursday afternoon.
SoCal Edison is cutting things off, trying to lower the risk of high-voltage lines sparking a fire if winds bring them down. The utility says 280,000 others across Southern California are also at risk of losing their power as a precautionary fire-safety measure.
