Britney Spears Committed to Mental Health Facility for 30 Days

(KNX 1070) -- Pop star Britney Spears has been committed to a mental health facility for about a week and is scheduled to stay for 30 days. 

Spears, 37,  has been having emotional issues coping with her father's declining health and says she's decided to focus on "self-care."

We all need to take time for a little "me time." :)

Jamie Spears has had two major surgeries recently to help correct complications with his intestines and color. Last last year Spears' colon ruptured, and Britney put her Las Vegas residency and a record release on hold to care for him. 

I don't even know where to start with this, because this is so tough for me to say. I will not be performing my new show Domination. I've been looking forward to this show and seeing all of you this year, so doing this breaks my heart. However, it's important to always put your family first… and that's the decision I had to make. A couple of months ago, my father was hospitalized and almost died. We're all so grateful that he came out of it alive, but he still has a long road ahead of him. Spears has been under a conservatorship since 2008 due to her bipolar diagnosis. 

Spears has two sons, ages 13 and 12.
