(KNX 1070/CNS) - Relatives of a 10-year-old Lancaster boy, who was allegedly tortured to death by his mother and her boyfriend, say Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services denied them custody of two of the boy’s siblings.
KNX reached out to DCFS for comment, but so far, there's been no response.
The aunt and uncle of Anthony Avalos can hardly believe it.
David Barron is the brother of the boy’s mother.
"This is heartbreaking, we have done everything. We have bought them beds, we bought them clothes, we have done everything they asked us to do, we've got our foster license and done every hoop they've asked us to jump through we have done everything and they're still denying us because of a Facebook post of Anthony in the hospital,"Barron said.
Brian Claypool is the family’s attorney and he plans to seek a court order to reverse DCFS’s decision.
"DCFS has a bunch of bullies running that agency and they deprived this loving couple of two beautiful kids who were also abused of having a loving home," Claypool said.
