Now that Los Angeles teachers are back on the job after the strike, the school district has to figure out a way to pay for the new contract.
The Los Angeles Unified School District Board of Education is set to discuss possible strategies to increase revenue, including a local parcel tax Tuesday morning, a month after the district reached an expensive contract agreement with striking public school teachers.
On the board's agenda is the introduction of ballot language a "local tax revenue" initiative
