Days after police suspended their search of a Corona landfill for the remains of their 6-month-old son, the baby's parents plead not guilty to charges in connection with his death.
Both are charged with child abuse resulting in death along with a special allegation.
Kiana Williams and Adam Manson entered their pleas and denied the allegation through their attorneys.
During their preliminary hearing, a detective testified that the two acknowledged in police interviews that they had left a suitcase containing their son Jacsun's body in a trash bin at the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw mall.
The couple was allegedly doing drugs in a South LA motel room on New Year's Eve and later found the baby dead.
Police had been searching a landfill in Corona, but called it off with heavy hearts after an exhaustive investigation was unable to narrow down the possible location of Jacsun's remains.
Williams and Manson are due back in court next month.
Culver City police announced they will no longer conduct a search of a landfill in Riverside County for the remains of a 6-month-old boy whose parents have been charged with child abuse in connection with his death.
"After weeks of research, consultation with subject matter experts from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and discussions with Waste Management and the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, the Culver City Police Department has decided to discontinue the search of the El Sobrante Landfill for the remains of Jacsun Manson," a police statement said.
