(KNX 1070/CNS) - Authorities have filed charges in connection with a series of shootings in Malibu last year including one that left a young Orange County father dead.

Anthony Rauda is facing one count of murder, 10 counts of attempted murder and five counts of second-degree burglary.

He's scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Van Nuys Superior Court.

Rauda was arrested in the Malibu area in October on suspicion of burglary while carrying a rifle that investigators believed might be linked to the shootings.

He had been held on a parole violation since then and was set to be released this week.

Rauda was arrested during a search for an armed man who'd broken into several buildings in that area. A parolee, Rauda was in jail for a probation violation.

Investigators are looking into whether he might've killed Tristan Beaudette of Irvine, who was camping in the park with two young daughters in June.

Searchers were scouring Malibu Creek State Park on foot and horseback in early October looking for evidence in the case of a 42-year-old parolee arrested in a series of food heists in the Malibu and Calabasas areas, and possibly linked to the June killing of a man camping with his young daughters in the park.

Rauda was arrested around 3:20 p.m. Oct. 10 in a ravine about a mile-and-a-half north of Mulholland Highway and west of Las Virgenes Road in the Malibu Canyon area.
