Lucy Liu did not see her shadow when Bill Murray spoke to her with "inexcusable and unacceptable" language.
As reported back in July, actor Lucy Liu went public on the "Asian Enough" podcast about how she had to stick up to Bill Murray when he hurled insults at her during the making of the 2000 blockbuster, “Charlie’s Angels.”

Well today, Insider reports that “Charlie’s Angels” co-star and current talk show maven, Drew Barrymore, expressed much respect for the response from the “Elementary” star.
On a recent episode of “The Drew Barrymore Show,” Barrymore certified that Murray was the aggressor in the foul-mouthed, on-set dust-up.
"What really happened was Bill was just in a, you know, comedians can be a little dark sometimes,” Barrymore explained, “and he just came in in a bad mood, and what you have to know is how much Lucy stood up for herself and that was the great thing that came out of an unfortunate circumstance.”
Barrymore continued, "[Liu] literally said, 'I do not accept that kind of behavior from you.' And we all supported her and backed her up and we moved forward. I respected her then. I respect her now. I am proud of us as a team and a company that we didn't tiptoe on the eggshells."
Basrrymore insisted that the verbal spat was “dealt with,” and that from there the filming moved on without incident.
Liu, 52, and Murray, 70, reportedly made up later while at a “Saturday Night Live” reunion -- though it is notable that Murray did not return to play John Bosley in the 2003 sequel, “Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle.”
Though expressing water under the bridge, Liu reiterated in the “Asian Enough” podcast her understandable reaction.
"Some of the language was inexcusable and unacceptable,” Liu said, “and I was not going to just sit there and take it. So, yes, I stood up for myself, and I don't regret it. Because no matter how low on the totem pole you may be or wherever you came from, there's no need to condescend or to put other people down.”
