LOS ANGELES (KNX) — A person was found dead Friday morning in a motel room that was damaged by a fire in Sylmar, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Firefighters were called to 12225 N. San Fernando Rd. at 6:16 a.m. to extinguish flames in one of the rooms of a one-story garden-style motel.

It took 22 firefighters to knock the blaze down in 12 minutes, officials said.
Firefighters found one person deceased at the scene, but their cause of death was not immediately revealed.
The cause of the fire also was under investigation.
