1 killed, 1 injured in crash with Metro bus in West Hollywood

The driver of a yellow Mustang was killed and another victim was injured after the Mustang crashed into a Metro bus in West Hollywood Friday.

The crash occurred at the corner of Santa Monica Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue at 1:10 a.m. Friday, NBC 4 reported.

The Metro bus was parked when the Mustang slammed into it.

"A vehicle rear-ended a stationary Metro Bus at the corner of Santa Monica Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue," a Metro spokeswoman told City News Service in a statement.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Metro extends its deepest condolences to the driver's family," the Metro spokeswoman said.

The Los Angeles Sheriffs Department is leading the investigation of the fatal crash. If the public has any information, they are encouraged to call the L.A. Regional Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-222--8477.
