California Highway Patrol officers were called at around 12:12 a.m. to the southbound 710 and the junction with the southbound Santa Ana (5) Freeway where someone from another vehicle shot at a Toyota Prius, wounding at least one of the Prius' occupants, CHP Officer Sean Lough told City News Service.

NBC 4 showed footage of the Prius with at least three bullet holes.

The driver of the Prius was able to drive to a hospital and was treated for non-life threatening injuries, NBC 4 reported. It was not immediately known if the passenger or the driver of the Prius had been shot.

The CHP issued a SigAlert that closed all lanes of the southbound 710 at Third Street for over four hours while they investigated the shooting.

There was no immediate description of the car the shooter was traveling in or of the shooter.
