The Los Angeles Police Department has arrested two suspects in the hit-and-run death of a Montebello woman during a street race near USC last month.
20-year-old Anna Solis was struck and killed as she was crossing the intersection of South Hill and West 33rd Streets on July 21. The car that hit her was engaged in a street race with another vehicle, the LAPD said. Both drivers fled without rendering aid.
On August 3, LAPD officers arrested Javorrie Murphy of Palmdale, who they identified as the driver of the car that hit Solis. The next day, officers arrested the other driver, L.A. resident Deven Wagner. Both men were charged with murder, and bail was set at $2 million.
