Two people were found dead Thursday at an Irvine hotel from a murder-suicide.
According to Irvine police, officers responded about 2:30 p.m. Thursday to a medical-aid call at the Marriott Irvine Spectrum, 7905 Irvine Center Drive.

"Officers discovered two elderly people deceased in the room," according to police.

Kyle Oldoerp of the Irvine Police Department told City News Service the deaths were being investigated as a possible murder-suicide, which was later confirmed by investigators. Oldoerp said the deceased were a man believed to be 86 and a woman possibly 70. The pair had been expected to check out of the Marriott hotel Thursday morning.
"Our hearts go out to all impacted by this incident," police said in a statement.
