
Two people were shot to death and eight others were wounded Monday morning at a commercial building in downtown Los Angeles, authorities said.
The shooting occurred at 12:53 a.m. at 2350 Porter St., according to a desk officer at the Los Angeles Police Department's Operations Center.
Patrol officers observed the shooting in progress, he said.
According to media accounts, the shooting occurred at an unsanctioned New Year's party.
Paramedics dispatched to the scene pronounced two people dead at the location and rushed two others to a hospital, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported. Their conditions were not immediately known.
The majority of the injured were self-transported to a hospital, the Los Angeles Police Department told ABC7.
