Two unrelated shootings were under investigation in Maywood Monday and three wounded victims were in the hospital.
The first shooting occurred at 8:20 p.m. Sunday in the 4000 block of 52nd Street, Sgt. M. Aquino of the East Los Angeles Sheriff's Station told City News Service.

Paramedics took a man to a hospital in unknown condition, Aquino said.
Just over an hour later, at about 9:30 p.m., a man and a woman were wounded in a shooting at Slauson Avenue and the Los Angeles Riverbed, he said.
They also were taken by ambulance to a hospital and they had stable vital signs, Aquino said.
Suspect information was not immediately available for both shootings, he said.
Aquino stressed that authorities do not believe the shootings are related.
