Patrol units from the Los Angeles Police Department's Rampart Division responded just after 1 a.m. to the 600 block of Wilshire Boulevard, between Sixth and Seventh streets regarding reports of multiple gunshots. When they arrived, officers found five victims suffering from gunshot wounds, LAPD Officer Rosario Cervantes told City News Service.
All five patients were taken to a hospital by Los Angeles Fire Department personnel. Three were reported to be in critical condition and the others in unknown conditions.
Fox 11 reported the victims might have be involved in a drive-by shooting, but Cervantes could not confirm that details.
There was no suspect information.
