An Amber Alert was issued for a five-year-old girl in Los Angeles who police say was taken by her father after he killed her mother.
Daleza Fregoso is believed to have been abducted by her father, 40-year-old Ruben Fregoso, on Sunday. Officials say the two were last seen around 4 a.m. near Alsace Ave. and Ferndale St. in the Arlington Heights area.
The car they were believed to be in was found in San Diego, but the two are still missing.
On Monday, around 12:39 p.m., police went into a residence in the 2600 block of South Alsace Ave. for a welfare check. When they arrived, they saw a woman
“Preliminary investigation indicates the victim died as a result of violence,” according to the LAPD.
Officers named Fregoso a person of interest in the investigation. Investigators also learned that he “made statements indicating he intended to flee the country.”
