The State Attorney General's Office, with help from multiple police agencies, has arrested and convicted nine people wanted in connection with a series of flash mob thefts committed throughout Southern California last summer.

KNX News' Pete Demetriou reports that the crimes included a raid of Topanga Canyon Mall and high-end stores like Yves Saint Laurent, Gucci, Burberry, and others in Glendale, Burbank, Newport Beach, and Riverside.

State Attorney General Rob Bonta said the nine people convicted so far are all headed to state prison with sentences ranging from one to ten years based on individual culpability.

The investigation into the crimes that netted $1.7 million in goods is continuing. The focus is on finding the various crew members involved, who are still at large, and recovering more stolen items.

Police are also continuing to track participants who are contacted by social media to help commit the crimes, and prosecutors will seek state prison time in all of those cases.
