Air conditioners in Southern California are running hard and breaking down amidst a heat wave that continues to broil the region.
Ivan Munoz, a service manager with Kahn Air Conditioning, told KNX News’ Emily Valdez they’re booked up for the next two weeks.
“Our guys are working overtime. They know that this is the season for them to, you know, get their hours in and it's a team effort. It's all hands on deck here,” he said.
Munoz said the hotter the weather is, the more problems there are with air conditioning units.

“One of the most simplest and most important things that you can do to your air conditioner is change your filter,” he explained. “Change your filter every six months because if you don't change that filter, you are not allowing that system to breathe and blow air properly.”
If an air conditioner is on its last leg, Munoz recommended that people get a portable air conditioning unit as a backup.
