An alleged sword-wielding suspect was holed up Tuesday inside his Crenshaw-area apartment, authorities said.
Officers were dispatched at about 10:15 a.m. Tuesday to the 3800 block of Gibraltar Avenue regarding a man armed with a sword, according to the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Division.

Police said the suspect attempted to chase down a resident before barricading himself inside his apartment.
A SWAT team was called to the scene at 11:15 a.m. and was attempting to talk the suspect out of the residence.
