Though little information was immediately available, police activity was centered on an AMPM/ARCO parking lot just a mile or so south of Disneyland.
Sgt. Sutter told KNX News reporter Margaret Carrero that officers were conducting a follow-up investigation in the area when they confronted and, subsequently, shot an individual suspected to be connected to the investigation.
The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have the scene taped off, blocking traffic eastbound on Orangewood and southbound on Harbor.
The sergeant said there is no danger to the public at this time.
No other information was available.
