Los Angeles residents are reacting to the death of O.J. Simpson.

KNX News’ Craig Fiegener spoke to people outside of the criminal courthouse in L.A. where Simpson was acquitted of murdering Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman in the 1995 murder trial.

“It's a shame that everything that happened overshadows his accomplishments,” one woman said.

She said it’s a shame that his legacy is tarnished. A man said that Simpson is not a legend and that he lost his legacy.

“I have no, really, no thoughts on him or, I was around when he was a player and I saw the trial and I saw what happened honestly, really, it's no thoughts. It's just another person passing. So O.J., you're just another human being,” he said.

Another man shared his thoughts on Simpson’s murder trial.

“It's really interesting how controversial he was, the O.J. case and speaking as a black man, someone who actually used the system against the system when it generally does not work for black people, as defendants. Most people go to jail. But it showed that if you have money that you can come up against the system and sometimes you can win.,” the man said.

He said whether he’s guilty or not, only Simpson knows. But the man said, “if the glove doesn't fit, you must acquit.”

Simpson’s family confirmed his death Thursday morning on social media. He lived in Las Vegas and died at the age of 76.
