Another storm is headed toward Southern California beginning Friday night, causing concerns of landslides in certain areas including a neighborhood in Rancho Palos Verdes.
The National Weather Service said residents could expect light to moderate rain through Sunday with “brief heavy showers” on Saturday. There is also a potential for “a dusting of snow” for Grapevine.
The storm is causing residents on Dauntless Drive to worry about further issues impacting the area. Two to three homes along the area were damaged after the street collapsed.
One homeowner in the area said the issues began a couple of years ago but that the recent storms have made it worse.
A geologist told KNX News’ Jon Baird that he's not expecting significant mudslides and rock slides in other areas.
“The forecast is for light to moderate rain. Kind of steady,” he said. “The quantities and the intensity I don't think are gonna be high enough to cause major problems.”
