LOS ANGELES (KNX) — One man was arrested Friday following a high-speed chase that ended in a standoff situation between Los Angeles Sheriff's deputies, California Highway Patrol officers and the suspect, officials said.
The suspect, whose name has not been released, surrendered after several hours and was arrested near the intersection of Noakes and Calada Streets in the railyard area of Boyle Heights, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department.

The incident began around 2:25 p.m., when Sheriff's deputies were alerted to a stolen vehicle on the northbound Santa Ana (5) Freeway, just north of the 605 Freeway near Downey, Calif.
According to City News Service the driver of the allegedly stolen SUV was seen driving at high speeds, leading authorities through Montebello, Calif. and into South Gate, then ultimately into a railyard in Boyle Heights, where the SUV stalled on a train track, disabling the vehicle.
"The suspect fled on foot, where he then returned to the vehicle and barricaded himself inside," deputies said in a statement to KNX.
"With the direction of LASD Airship, Norwalk and East Los Angeles personnel located the stolen vehicle with the suspect inside."
After several hours of negotiating, with law enforcement weapons drawn, LASD said the suspect surrendered without incident and was taken into custody.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Century Station at (323) 568-4800.
