A man was arrested in connection to a sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl in Culver City.
Marcos Maldonado, 35, was arrested on Thursday, the Culver City Police Department announced.
He was taken into custody off the 5Freeway near Santa Clarita while boarding a bus headed to Bakersfield.
Detectives said during a press conference on Friday they linked him to the December attack through DNA evidence.
The incident happened on Dec. 2 in the Blair Hills community. The suspect broke into the home and sexually assaulted the girl between 2 a.m. to 3 a.m., police said. He left the house at 7 a.m.
Maldonado’s arraignment is scheduled for Monday.
