It’s been one year since Joanna Garel opened Garel Fine Art in Manhattan Beach. She told KNX News’ Nataly Tavidian that the last year has been the best experience of her life.
“We've had at least 70 artists shown through the gallery, so my dream has come true,” she said. I brought art to the South Bay, to Manhattan Beach. I brought the community together.”
She said when she started her gallery, her goal was to make art accessible to the community.
“I've shown Blue Chip Art beside local artists and the local artists are like, ‘Wait, I'm showing beside like a Warhol?’,” she said. “I said, ‘Yes, because you know what? You deserve the stage just as much as they did.’”
