At least eight students from Anaheim High School were hit by a suspected DUI driver on Wednesday.
It happened at 2:55 p.m. at the intersection of Harbor Boulevard and North Street.
Anaheim Police Sgt. Matt Sutter told KNX News' Alex Silverman that the driver of an orange Toyota Corolla ran off the road and into the teens, who are members of the school's track team, while they were on a practice run.
"We have eight students that went to the hospital with varying degrees of injuries," Sgt. Sutter said.
The driver, a 27-year-old man, was also hospitalized. Sgt. Sutter said that from the way the man appeared, they believe he was under the influence.
This is a developing story. KNX News’ Pete Demetriou is on the way to the scene.
