A man was fatally shot Monday in the Diamond Bar area of Los Angeles County, and an investigation was underway.

Officers were sent to Pathfinder Road, near the Orange (57) Freeway, about 6 a.m. on a report of a shooting, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and the California Highway Patrol.
According to Fox11, the shooting occurred at a park-and-ride, and a 36- year-old man from Apple Valley was found inside a car suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. His name was not immediately available for release. According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, paramedics were sent to the scene, but did not transport anyone for hospital treatment.
The suspect drove away in a white SUV, authorities told Fox 11. What led up to the shooting remains under investigation.
