
The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Friday for the 13th time in 14 days, decreasing 1.4 cents to $5.271.
The average price has dropped 10.1 cents over the past 14 days, including 1.2 cents Thursday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It dropped nine consecutive days, was unchanged Monday and resumed dropping Tuesday.
The average price is 6.2 cents less than one week ago and 7.7 cents lower than one month ago but 41.9 cents more than one year ago. It has dropped $1.223 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price dropped for the 15th consecutive day and 22nd time in 23 days, decreasing 1.1 cents to $5.19. It has dropped 15.9 cents over the past 23 days, including two-tenths of a cent Thursday.
The Orange County average price is 6.1 cents less than one week ago and 12.4 cents lower than one month ago, but 38 cents more than one year ago. It has dropped $1.269 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The Orange County average price dropped seven consecutive days, rose two-tenths of a cent April 25, then resumed dropping the next day.
"According to Oil Price Information Service, California and all West Coast refineries are continuing to operate at higher capacities and West Coast gasoline inventories are increasing in anticipation of higher summer demand," said Doug Shupe, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager.
The national average price resumed decreasing, dropping six-tenths of a cent to $3.636. It was unchanged Wednesday and rose two-tenths of a cent Thursday after five consecutive decreases totaling 3.1 cents.
The national average price is 3.1 cents less than one week ago, but 1.7 cents more than one month ago and 10.5 cents higher than one year ago. It has dropped $1.38 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
