
The investigation was continuing Tuesday into the discovery of a woman's body near the Santa Monica (10) Freeway in the downtown Los Angeles area.
The body of the woman, in her 30s, was discovered about 5 p.m. Monday near the Maple Avenue off-ramp, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner and reports from the scene.
Authorities withheld the name of the woman, pending notification of her relatives. A cause of death was not immediately known.
According to KTLA5, the body, which had been burned, was found at the bottom of the off-ramp near some construction containers.
