A body was discovered on an embankment of the San Diego (405) Freeway in Lawndale Tuesday and an investigation was underway to find out how it got there.

The discovery was made at 3:38 a.m. on an embankment of the southbound San Diego Freeway at Manhattan Beach Boulevard, California Highway Patrol Officer Sergio Garcia told City News Service.
The CHP was investigating the discovery but Garcia said the body is off the freeway so it did not immediately appear there would be an impact on morning traffic.
