The last-minute travel rush was in full swing at LAX on Christmas Eve.
While the Auto Club estimated that 889,000 SoCal residents would be flying this Christmas holiday, officials with Los Angeles World Airports say they’re expecting 200,000 passengers per day.
KNX News Jon Baird reported that around 7:36 a.m. that there was a 20 to 30-minute wait at the Terminal 7 security line.
One woman told Baird she was nervous at first when she saw the line at security but then realized she was still going to make her flight.
“It'll be great,” she said. “I’m excited to go see my daughter.”
She wasn’t the only one. Baird spoke with other passengers who were ready to get out of Southern California for the holiday.
“I'm just ready to get home, get back to Mississippi,” one man said.
Another woman said was surprised that traffic at LAX wasn’t terrible.
