LOS ANGELES (KNX) — The coldest storm of the season will bring rain, winds, freezing temperatures, and even snow to some parts of Southern California.
Cold and precipitation is attributable to a storm system moving down the West Coast from Alaska.

Locals can expect to see light showers beginning Tuesday as the storm system moves into the region. By Tuesday evening, light rain could turn into thunderstorms, hail, and lightning, continuing through to Wednesday morning.
Snowfall has been forecasted for mountain communities at elevation levels as low as 2,000 feet.
Freeze warnings have been issued for overnight hours from Wednesday through Friday. Winter storm warnings were also in effect for the Apple and Lucerne valleys, toward the San Bernardino Mountains and Idyllwild. Orange County’s Santa Ana Mountains were also under a winter weather advisory.
Caltrans is urging drivers to check for chain controls on major roadways.
