After days of excessive heat in South LA, Eric Boldt, a spokesperson for the National Weather Service, told LAist that cooler temperatures should be expected this week with a cool down beginning Monday.
“We should see temperatures drop a whole four degrees, maybe five [on Monday],” Boldt said.
South LA has seen high temperatures since Thursday, when a heat warning was put in place in the in the Antelope Valley through 9 p.m. Monday, with the National Weather Service predicting "dangerously hot conditions with temperatures up to 113 expected."
A Flex Alerts was issued Friday by California ISO, with consumers being asked to conserve electricity from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. A statewide Flex Alert was issued on Monday due to the heat wave and wildfires.
