Detectives are asking witnesses to come forward in the brutal murder of a young mother from the San Fernando Valley whose body was found in Bakersfield.
In the early morning hours of Dec. 17, 2022, Karla Terron was found dead on Hoskins Ave. off-ramp of the southbound 99 Freeway, according to Lt. Michael Modica with the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department.
“Although her body had been burned, the medical examiner determined her cause of death to be from multiple stab wounds,” he said.
He added detectives found and processed a white 2021 Honda CRV that contained Terron’s DNA in the rear cargo of the car.
On Thursday, detectives went door to door in the area of Knox Street asking if anyone had seen the car on Dec. 16, 2022, or Dec. 17, 2022.
“We believe that she was killed here and then transported to Bakersfield where she was dumped and set on fire on the freeway,” Lt. Modica said.

Anyone with any information was urged to contact the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500. Those wishing to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS (8477) or they can leave a tip at https://www.lacrimestoppers.org/.
