Less than a week after the Dodgers won the World Series, center fielder Kike Hernández spent the day serving fans at Raising Cane’s in Alhambra on Monday.
A crowd greeted Hernández as he headed into the restaurant, donning a blue Raising Cane’s shirt and hat.
In addition to working behind the counter, Hernández signed memorabilia for fans who raved about the player to KNX News’ Jon Baird.
“Kike’s awesome man. He’s the heart of the team, one man said. “Him, Rojas…all those guys are great.”
Hernández told reporters the last few days and weeks have been a dream.

“This what we..this is honestly what we play for. Winning a World Series and finally getting our parade,” he told reporters. “This is everything we imagine[d] and even more and the way that the city showed up for us… it's incredible. It's really hard to put into words.”
Hernández added that he won’t take much time off to relax as he has to prepare for next season.
