The family of a Southern California woman are asking for the public's help to find their daughter who went missing in the East Bay Monday morning.
Kemani McAlpin, 29, left her father's home in El Cerrito at 7 a.m. on Feb. 14 to take a walk near Kearney and Lincoln streets. Her family has since been unable to contact her.
"She just said she was going for a walk. She took her phone and her wallet, we haven't heard from her since," McAlpin's sister told KCBS Radio. "It's been just really torture as the days go on especially at night not knowing where she is in an unfamiliar place."
McAlpin is a 5'7" Black woman with brown eyes who weighs 170 pounds. She "may be disoriented," her family warned on a missing person flier.
A Twitter account titled Find Kemani reported that McAlpin was spotted at around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening on 610 18th St. in Oakland. "If in the area please keep a lookout & take a pic if you think you see her," the post read.
She was last seen wearing a black face mask, beige sweater, black pants and Nike high top sneakers. Her hair is black with reddish blonde tips and might be pulled into a short puff hairstyle, the flier detailed.
McAlpin is from the Los Angeles area and was in the East Bay to visit family.
