A fiery crash that took down a power pole in San Pedro Tuesday morning left a young man injured and as many as 2,000 Department of Water and Power customers without electricity.

The crash was reported around 1:45 a.m. in the 700 block of North Pacific Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
A white vehicle involved in the collision become completely engulfed in flames, according to the LAFD. The 21-year-old inside reported he got out of the car under his own power after the crash.
The man was in fair condition when taken to a hospital, said LAFD spokeswoman Lyndsey Lantz.
The DWP initially reported the wreck caused an outage affecting about 2,000 customers. But by 8 a.m. that number was down to 55 customers as crews made repairs.
