Firefighters sent to the 14000 block of North Candlewood Drive at 11:24 a.m. extinguished the flames in 17 minutes, according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
"Firefighters encountered excessive storage within the garage while trying to reach the seat of the fire," Stewart said in a statement. "The efforts contained the fire to the garage, preventing extension into the living space of the home."
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
