Firefighters knock down blaze in Wilmington

A fire with heavy flames at a two-story residence in Wilmington was quickly extinguished Friday.

The fire was reported at 4:38 a.m and fire crews responded to 822 N. Lakme Ave. between Anaheim Street and Harry Bridges Boulevard where they found heavy fire on the upper floor and attic of the residence's detached two-story, second floor garage, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey.


It took 36 firefighters took 32 minutes to extinguish the flames.

No injuries were reported.
