A police pursuit of a wanted murder suspect led to a standoff inside a bar filled with patrons in Gardena on Tuesday.
KNX News’ Emily Valdez reported that the Los Angeles Police Department said they had an arrest warrant for 25-year-old Luis Chavez, who was wanted for the March 3 murder of Joel Villalobos. Police said they tried to track Chavez down Tuesday morning, which turned into a car chase, then an on-foot pursuit.
“He ran into the Aloha Bar here at Gardena and Vermont and Alora, and there were approximately 12 patrons in sight,” LAPD Commander. Alfonso Lopez said.
