According to the Kern County Fire Department, a vegetation fire in Rosamond, California, has reached 400 acres, possibly threatening structures in the area.

As the fire grew from 200 to 400 acres, Kern County Fire reported that electrical wires from near by solar field projects have been burned.
The blaze, dubbed the Gaskell Fire, was seen burning northwest of Lancaster and north of Highway 138, with a plume of smoke visible from the 14 Freeway.
