LAWNDALE (CNS) - Authorities sought public assistance Friday in locating a 16-year-old girl last seen in Lawndale.
Perla Mena was last seen in the 14000 block of Osage Avenue Wednesday around 2 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies described Mena as a 4-foot-11-inch tall Hispanic girl weighing 118 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. It was unclear what Mena was last seen wearing after going missing.
Sheriff's officials said Mena told a family member that she was taking a trip with her school, possibly to the mountains.
Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts was urged to contact the South Los Angeles Sheriff's Station at 323-820-6700. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.
