The murder trial of Rebecca Grossman, accused of hitting two young boys with her car in Westlake Village back in 2020, killing the siblings, continues.
Nancy Iskander, the mother of the deceased brothers, took the witness stand Monday, and KNX News' Margaret Carrero was there outside the courthouse in Van Nuys.
According to Iskander's testimony, when she realized cars barreling down the street were not slowing down, she grabbed her youngest son – who was closest to her - and dove out of the way. When she looked back, she saw a white SUV going through the intersection, and her other two sons were no longer there.
Iskander said the car's driver kept going, and things became quiet.
She found eight-year-old Jacob lying on the floor nearby but could not see 11-year-old Mark.
Speaking through tears, Iskander testified that once she found Mark, she could see he had blood coming out of his mouth; every bone in his body was broken. She said she knew Mark was dead.

Under cross-examination by one of Grossman's lawyers, Iskander was asked if she remembered other cars speeding by. She said, "I was screaming; my kids just died right before my eyes."
Iskander acknowledged, though, that she didn't actually see Grossman hit the boys but said she heard the crash and found them dead.
She was later asked about suing Grossman and said, "Yes, she killed my kids. They're not at school, they're not playing sports, they're at the cemetery."
Grossman's lead attorney pointed the finger at former Dodgers pitcher Scott Erickson, who was dating her at the time.
They were driving to Grossman's house in separate cars.
The defense told jurors they will prove Erickson's car hit the Iskander brothers first, and seconds later, they hit Grossman's car.
Erickson was previously charged with misdemeanor reckless driving, but the charge was dismissed after he finished a diversionary program.
Grossman pleaded not guilty to charges of murder, gross vehicular manslaughter, and hit and run causing death.
